This week I read Diary of a Wimpy Kid . My quote I picked was friendship from childhood don't last that long" Sometimes keeping one childhood friend is all you need, you appreciate each other as time goes on ." Trying to fit in doesn't always work because those kids don't care about you , they only care about what you can do for them . Most of the time they are bullies of the school, that like to boss kids around and disrespect adults kids like that I wouldn't even what to call a friend.
Like my parents tell me everyday be nice to everyone no matter how they treat you in return. Kill them with kindness.

This week I read, DIARY OF A WIMPY KID HARD LUCK . My quote i picked was '' friends will come and go but family is forever''... this reminds me of what my mother and father tell me all the time when i feel upset. Family is always first.
I just finished reading chapter 9 of, I Survived the Sinking of the Titanic, 1912 by Lauren Tarshis. This chapters opens with Henry going to Aunt Daisy's cabin. When Henry says there's been an incident Aunt Daisy's immediately thinks George did something wrong. Henry corrected her and let her know that something happened to the ship. Henry was there to tell her that the captain wants everyone to go up on the deck. Henry made sure that he handed out three life jackets. Aunt Daisy is convinced that it is just a drill.
"Henry wore his usual polite smile, but his voice wasn't jolly" pg. 46 I can infer that Henry may have been upset, stressed, and afraid. I think this because Henry was not acting like himself. I know that when people are upset, stressed, or afraid they may not be as happy as they usually are. I continued to read I Survived the Sinking of the Titanic by Lauren Tarshis. in chapter 8 it starts off with George realizing that the engines were shut off. George saw a group of men, wearing tuxedos and puffing cigars, laughing at something that was happening on the well deck. When George looked over he saw young men with poor looking clothing,..."pelting each other with balls of ice, roaring with laughter like kids having a snowball fight." pg.42. It is explained that the Titanic struck an iceberg. People did not seem to panic; they thought the ice was fun.
I don't understand why people were not panicking when the Titanic hit the iceberg. I don't understand because I would have panicked and immediately gone to the highest point of the boat to avoid sinking first. I think they are going to go from laughing to crying. |
